Synnøve Brøndbo Plassen
Synnøve Brøndbo Plassen is a 29 years old singer and folk musician from Folldal in Innlandet. Synnøve has quickly become one of the most wanted young folk musicians in Norway. She has a masters degree from the Norwegian academy of music in the traditional folk music section.
Her childhood is strongly affected by growing up in a folk music family. The folk music from Folldal, Østerdalen and Trøndelag is the traditions she has worked with the most. Her repertoire ranges from children songs and psalms to ballads and instrumental music performed vocally.
In the spring 2024 she got her second Norwegian Grammy nomination with the album “Den lyse dag (The bright day)”. Autumn of 2021 she released her debut album “Hjemve”. In november 2022 she won the Folkelarmprize for the solo-album of the year for the album “Hjemve”.
In 2023 and 2024 she won the elite-class at Landskappleiken. In 2024 she also got a king’s trophy for her traditional singing at Landskappleiken in Gol.
The last couple of years she has got a lot of recognition and awards for her work as a folk singer, and as of 2024 she is a part of the talent program ART.EX (Talent Norge).
