Klara Andersson
Klara Andersson is a folk dancer and folk dance teacher based in Malmö, Sweden. She has extensive experience in both artistic and pedagogical work within the field of folk dance. Her inspiration and artistic drive stem from a deep interest in musicality, groove, and the unique feeling of moving together with another person- sharing the groove, presence, and physical dialogue.
Klara regularly organizes her own courses and projects, while also working long-term with groups of students. She has taught at Malungs folkhögskola (summer edition), TON Folk Music Camp, Ethno Flanders 2024, and Hovrastämman.
As an artist, Klara works as one of two dancers and choreographers in the interdisciplinary group VAK. In 2023, VAK was nominated as Newcomer of the Year at the Swedish Folk & World Music Awards. Since then, the group has established itself within the Swedish folk music scene as the only currently active ensemble that fully intertwines dance and music as an integrated artistic expression.
