KUD “Tomislav” from Doni Andrijevci (KUD – Kulturno-Umjetničko Društvo) has been active since 1939. It is one of the most famous and active amateur groups in Croatian Slavonia. Since 1999, KUD “Tomislav” has been organising the festival “Oj, samice, drvo javorovo, ‘ko te svir’o nikad ne bolov’o”, which attracts lovers of singing and tradition from all over Croatia.

The KUD “Tomislav” ensemble cherishes traditional songs, chants (including bećarac) and religious folk songs. It takes part in numerous festivals. As many as three počimalje of the group KUD “Tomislav” (women who start the song: Marija Vučković, Ana Radman, Matea Vinarić) – have been recognised as the best počimalje in the region.

Both the costumes in which the members of the ensemble perform and their songs are an integral part of the living culture of Slavonia and the village of Donji Andrijevci – such costumes are still in use here, the old-time songs still resound, sung with a special voice emission that has been passed down from generation to generation.
