SINGING Songs For Men From the Radom Region
Led by Antoni Hasso-Agopsowicz and Witold Wojciechowski
For all interested, primarily men
We will be working on the songs sung by men from the Pilica river valley and explore two parts of the Radom musicality – the finely ornamented wyrywas (dance songs) of Stefan Kędzierski from Rdzuchów (b. 1921), and the soldierly and courtship songs performed in a bold, marching style by Michał Jagodziński from Siekluki (b. 1901).
Ladies are welcome, but be warned – the tones will be adjusted to male voices!
Antoni Hasso-Agopsowicz and Witold Wojciechowski – enthusiasts, researchers, and practitioners of traditional music from the Kajok microregion (western Radom region). As the Kapela Agopsowicza band, they play for dancing and listening, and conduct educational activities. They document dancers, singers, and musicians, and collaborate with them on projects that popularize rural music in its natural form.
