CONCERT Canon of Three

This concert is another in a series of autumn events dedicated to outstanding figures of traditional music — true legends of rural culture. The programme includes films, stories of encounters with these artists, and performances of their music by their students and musicians who performed with them on stage.

This year, we will remember three remarkable fiddlers, no longer with us, from three regions of Poland: Józef Zaraś (Nieznamierowice, Radom region), Tadeusz Kubiak (Leśmierz, Łęczyca region) and Leon Lewandowski (Jagodziniec, Kalisz region).

The Canon of Three series was created by Andrzej Bieńkowski – painter, ethnographer and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, who has been documenting village musicians since 1980. Films about the featured artists will be presented by Piotr Baczewski and Mateusz Raszewski, together with Andrzej Bieńkowski.

Furthermore, Andrzej Bieńkowski, Mateusz Raszewski, Marcin Lorenc and Paweł Ladorucki will discuss the lives and work of the musicians.
