FRAME DRUM Kajok Obers
Kajok obers in the style of Tadeusz Duda from Rdzuchów
Led by Antoni Hasso-Agopsowicz
For intermediate players, you need your own instrument
During the workshop, we will learn how to hold the drum to extract sounds most effectively and discover how many beats Kajok obers actually have. Are they really three-beat? We will also learn what an ober phrase really is and how to emphasize it on the drum.
We will also learn about the ornaments used by Tadeusz Duda from Rdzuchów, try to come up with ways to maintain the rhythm and pulse characteristic for the old Kajok violin, and listen to archival recordings of Tadeusz Duda drumming for various musicians.
