Old Tradition 2025

The 15th Old Tradition competition is coming! Applications are open until March 21, 2025.
The competition is addressed to young instrumentalists, singers and bands (aged under 45) that are rooted in the traditional Polish rural music.
The goal of the competition is to promote young musicians and singers who carry on the traditions of music from particular (modern or historical) regions of Poland, and to search for a formula that would ensure the music’s presence in today’s culture.
The laureates will be chosen by a Jury composed of experts, musicians, and musical heritage researchers – Andrzej Bieńkowski, Ewa Grochowska, Dorota Majerczyk, Kuba Borysiak, and Janusz Prusinowski.
The laureates of the competition will perform at the 2025 Mazurkas of the World Festival.

To participate in the competition, read the RULES AND REGULATIONS, fill out the FORM, and send us three mp3 recordings of your performances, along with a picture.

The FORM can be:

2) sent via email (if you do not have a Google account)
download the form on your computer from this page https://tiny.pl/c8kffg0y, fill it out, and then send to staratradycja@gmail.com, along with three mp3 recordings of your performances and a picture. The subject of the email should be: “Competition Application – name of the soloist / band.”
