Janusz PrusinowskiTrio are the students and continuators of the village musicians from the regions of Masovia, Radom and Lublin, but also an avant-garde band with characteristic sound and own language of improvisation. Their music can be heard at concerts, dance parties and theatre performances („Umowa czyli łajdak ukarany” in the National Theatre in Warsaw, „Il drago di Cracovia” at San Carlino di Roma), as well as in The Polish Radio Theatre broadcasts. They have played many concerts both in Poland and abroad (e.g. Corso Polonia in Rome, Bombarde et Companie in Brittany). Their debut album Mazurki (Mazurkas), which won the second prize in the Best Ethnic or Traditional Recording category at the 2008 music contest ‘Folkowy Fonogram Roku’, is a musical inquiry about the roots of Polish mazurkas and their contemporary potential.
